Elior School Dining Expands Nutritious Menus to High Point Academy

Spartanburg, SC, September 1, 2026 -- Elior School Dining is proud to announce a new dining partnership with High Point Academy, a STEAM-focused, tuition-free, public charter school.   Building on its success and culinary reputation with charter schools across the country, Elior will serve fresh and nutritious breakfast and lunch to more than 1,300 K-12 students in Spartanburg!

According to High Point Academy Superintendent Brian Sherman, high-quality food and responsiveness were key factors in the decision to partner with Elior. “We wanted a team that brought both high operational standards and a genuine passion for nourishing students. Elior blew us away with their professionalism, forward-thinking proposal, and proactive engagement with our leadership team. They didn't just offer a service—they offered a true partnership. Because we are a K-12 school, we needed a food service provider that could serve a wide range of ages, palates and levels of independence. Elior fits the bill.”

Elior's dynamic strategy to enhance the Grizzly Café dining experience—including plans to grow à la carte participation, expand menu options for students and staff, and elevate culinary excellence—also aligned with the school's goals. “The students are thrilled with the quality and selection of foods Elior offers. We are particularly excited that more students are eating breakfast because it's a well-established fact that students learn better when they are properly fed. Even though school has only been in session for 3 weeks, everything is running smoothly in the cafeteria and Elior is continuing to be responsive and adapting to High Point Academy's needs,” adds Sherman.

Designed to encourage healthier eating, support learning, and, just as importantly, foster interaction among diverse student groups, the updated space complements school colors!  Elior’s marketing department created vibrant graphics, refresh merchandising, and dynamic digital signage displaying menus, daily specials, nutritional information, and engaging food visuals—part of a series of exciting enhancements to the dining experience!

A robust promotional portfolio will also engage students including So Good, a unique monthly program that highlights seasonal produce, encouraging the intake of more fruits and vegetables; BeWell, Elior’s health and wellness platform, that offers additional healthier options and nutrition education to students at each grade level; and Global Bites, another exciting promotion that features authentic recipes from around the world!

In addition to healthy menu options, students will have access to Elior registered dietitians, who will provide menu planning support for specialized diets as well as nutrition counseling.

The Elior School Dining leadership team is happy to serve you. They are:  District Manager Francisco O’Connell; General Manager Danielle Corbin; Chef Alexandria Wallace and Menu Coordinator Sarah Firnsin.
