Elior School Dining provides dining and nutrition services to public and charter schools across the country who operate within the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program (NSLP, NSLBP) guidelines. We serve over 33 million meals each year to K-12 students.

Powered by global contract catering and services leader, Elior Group, and part of the Elior North America collective of distinct hospitality companies, Elior School Dining emerged through rebranding in 2025 with a new name and refreshed vision and mission. Formerly known as K-12 by Elior, Elior School Dining’s identity echoes shared values and pride in Elior’s reputation as a global name in dining services.

Our mission: to transform school dining into an experience that fuels student potential, empowers smart food choices, ignites culinary discovery, and nurtures a culture of community.
Our mission is to bring energy, care, and creativity to school dining, fueling student potential, sparking smart food choices, igniting culinary curiosity, and building a real sense of community.

We’re here to create school dining experiences everyone can feel good about. Serving great food is just part of it, as we also take our responsibility seriously to make a positive impact on our communities and the planet.

It matters to us that our team members feel proud of their work, and that students, families, and schools feel good about what’s on the plate. That’s why we make smart choices about the ingredients we source and how we run our kitchens; always with people and the planet in mind.
Simply put, we’re here to do good things. Good for students, good for the environment, and good for the future.

Reducing food waste
Around one-third of the world’s food goes to waste and we’re on a mission to reduce and redirect as much as possible, keeping it out of landfills and transforming it into something that feeds our people and our environment.
Our kitchen teams are working smarter to create less waste in production, recover food through creative recipes, and redirect the best to feed our communities through donation and the rest to feed the soil through compost.

Sourcing sustainably
“Better food from the ground up” is our promise to continuously evolve practices and processes to better meet the needs of our partners, our students, and our planet. We choose ingredients and paper products that are grown, raised, and made with people and the environment in mind.
From locally grown produce to reusable or compostable plates and so much more, we’re building school dining programs that get better every day.

Climate-friendly menus
Choosing foods that are good for the planet is a growing movement, and we’re all in. We’re making low-carbon, plant-based meals just as tasty and satisfying as students’ everyday favorites. Our chefs, dietitians, and managers team up with partners like Humane World for Animals to create bold new recipes, hands-on culinary training, and fun, student-friendly promotions that make it easier (and more delicious) to go plant-forward.

Strengthening communities
Working together really is the best way to make a difference. We show up for our communities in a lot of ways, but making sure students have access to good food is a big priority on campus.
Food insecurity doesn’t always look the same, but it has a real impact: it holds people back, affects their health, and creates barriers that don’t need to be there. We’re tackling it with simple, respectful solutions like food pantries, recovery programs, and alerts that connect people to available meals, no questions asked. It’s pretty simple: when food is easier to access, people can focus on what really matters.
