Aztec, NM, August 11, 2025 - Elior School Dining is proud to be awarded the dining services contract for the Aztec Municipal School District. Elior will serve 2,522 students in grades Pre-K-12 in seven schools throughout the district.
Elior began its contract on July 1, serving summer options for camps. Elior will customize breakfast, lunch, and a fresh fruit and vegetable program for the school’s dining footprint which offers two additional contract onsite meal locations and three concession sites. Elior’s dining team will also prepare its fresh food offsite and deliver to two satellite locations.
One of the highlights of the new dining program is the addition of the Elior School Dining branding that trends with today’s students. Reinventing these spaces is not only important to presenting attractive exciting menu items, but promotes a dining space that is fresh, modern and timeless.
Vibrant new graphics, merchandizing, and digital signage will feature menus, daily specials, nutritional information and food graphics which are among the exciting enhancements. Produced in the school’s official colors, the new look also encourages healthier eating, learning, and just as important, interaction among diverse groups.
Healthier eating is another benefit to a partnership with Elior as the new dining program will incorporate as much of New Mexico grown products, including produce and meats, into the schools’ menus which will feature a main entrée, grill and, or, deli sandwich and entrée salad options.
“Local sourcing not only cuts down on the carbon footprint associated with the food system, but also helps sustain the local economy by keeping money spent by community members in the local community,” said Elior District Manager Kelli Stradling.
Elementary school dining will also receive a transformation by offering the “Fantastic Five” brand where students will always have an option of fruit, dairy, protein, vegetables, and grain at each meal service.
“This reinforces the importance of moderations, variety and balance in students’ diets,” said Stradling.
BeWell, an Elior health and wellness platform, will also enhance optimal nutrition. BeWell menu items will be displayed on Nutrislice online menus, allowing students to view daily menu items, while providing access to nutrition, dietary and allergen information. In addition to healthy menu options, students will have access to Elior registered dietitians, who will provide menu planning support for specialized diets as well as nutrition counseling.
Global Bites, another promotion, features authentic recipes from around the world. This provides students an opportunity to sample culturally diverse cuisine, while receiving an education about world cultures and the traditions from the featured countries.
“Our dining brand aligns with this philosophy, delivering diversified menus and a variety of healthier choices that fuel their learning energy,” said Stradling.
